You can best think of them as votes of confidence from other sites. For search engines like Google, they are a crucial factor in determining your website's authority and ranking.

How to Get Free Backlinks Fast? The AI Content Repurposing Hack
To get a backlink from reputable sites in your industry, you only need:
- A simple AI hack
- Two powerful tools
- 5 minutes per week

Step 1: Find Questions About Your Expertise in Featured.com
You need an account on Featured (formerly Terkel) for this “white hat” SEO backlink hack.
The platform may remind you of a site that no longer exists: HARO (Help a Report Out).
As the homepage shows, this is a win-win opportunity:
- Publishers can get valuable content, insights and quotes from experts like you
- In return for your contribution, you can get backlinks from trusted sites, like HubSpot, Inc., FastCompany, etc.
For example, this question by GoDaddy showed up in my featured.com account.
Let’s move to the next step.
Step 2: Create Answers From Your Existing Content with Google's Notebook LM
Google’s Notebook LM is a powerful AI tool that can quickly answer questions and use your own knowledge repository as the source.
Let me illustrate how I do it for the ProfitSchool Business Unfiltered podcast.
I uploaded the transcripts of almost 100 episodes to my Notebook LM account.
When I see a request in Featuredom about a topic we talked about in our podcast, I enter the question in Notebook LM.
In no time, Notebook LM scans all our podcast episodes and extracts the most relevant information.
The answers may sound academic, but that is a minor thing compared to manually researching all my transcripts.
Fast, easy and on top of that: I only get answers that are based on my own experience.
Then, it’s time for the last step.
Step 3: Submit Your Response for Backlink Success
The final step takes place in Featured. I always review my answers before submitting them to publishers.
Serious publishers don’t take the risk of harming their own reputation, so you need some patience. Also, be prepared to get rejected.

- 10 were published
- 3 were selected
- And 4 were under review

Even if you don't have a podcast, you can still leverage Google's Notebook LM to get answers you can share with publishers.
Just make sure you do as I do with Profitschool: use your own knowledge and professional expertise. It makes you more trustworthy and it adds unique value that nobody else can provide.
You can upload all kinds of content sources to Notebook LM. Think, for example, of:
- Business emails you've sent.
- Loom videos you shared with customers or partners
- Lead magnets
- Blog articles
- Transcripts of voice notes you recorded
- Etc.
Start with one resource.
And you will soon experience that the power of Notebook LM for businesses reaches much further than having an AI assistant at your site to help you build backlinks.
